This has been on my To-Do list for months, and it is finally finished! Last week we rolled out with a non-clipart version, and over the weekend while we were “camping” at East Canyon, I finished adding pictures to match (since Cooper can’t quite read yet at age four. Give him a few more months. Plus it’s just cuter with pics.)
The way it works is that each child gets to make one large marble magnet in a color of his or her choice, and a dozen or so mini magnets in the same color. Place the Job Chart on the fridge or hanging metal sheet. For routines, the child gets to move the large magnet down after each routine is finished till he gets to the bottom of the morning. Then he starts working on the “jobs” for moving mini magnets. If there is time during the day, let him choose a certain number of “extra jobs” that he or she would like to do during the day. As soon as mini magnet jobs are done, they get to move a mini magnet from “Not Done Yet” to “DONE!” And it feels GREAT! Each of our kids gets a dime per mini magnet job completed each week, up to $6. They have loved that they get to be in charge of their OWN jobs instead of mom nagging at them all morning! And of course after dinner they start to move the large magnet down the evening routines.
Hope that this can be helpful for your family, too!
These are just examples… if you would like the Publisher version so you can edit it as needed, email me and I will send it to you. It was too large to post.
